I grew up in Vermont, surrounded by natural beauty and solitude. This stillness and isolation is frequently rendered in my paintings. I'm inspired by the illusory nature of fog and water that both reveal and obscure simultaneously. I strive to realize the mysterious quality of these natural phenomena in my work. I'm also stirred by curious combinations, the human form, and unexpected detail in paintings.
